direct focus online, senior media buyer

2018 - 2019

  • Responsible for promoting and managing paid direct response, e-commerce digital ad campaigns for numerous in-house and third-party consumer product offers, via multiple online marketing channels such as: native, display, direct site buys, custom content, 24 hour sponsorships, email marketing, ppc, social media, ad networks, on CPM, CPC and CPA pricing structures

  • National and international ads are placed on top tier native networks such as Yahoo Gemini, Outbrain, and Taboola, while national and international ads are placed on top tier direct sites such as AOL.com, MSN.com, and CNN.com

  • Manage the entire life-cycle of all media buys from prospecting media buy source to campaign renewal: ensure profitability by analyzing daily stats and optimizing campaigns

  • Create, craft and write copy for all online ads launched online, build landing pages in Wordpress, and create landing page A/B split tests in Visual Web Optimizer (VWO)

  • Generate profitable sales for multiple direct response, e-commerce products offers within categories such as: technology devices, health & wellness, auto gadgets, clothing & accessories, survival, medical & pain reduction, insurance, and home improvement

  • Troubleshoot technical issues with tracking platforms, ensure accuracy for pixel placements, and optimize sales funnels

2014 - 2018

  • Prospected, identified, evaluated, acquired, and on-boarded new online sources to buy advertising space from on CPM, CPC, CPA, and CPL pricing structures for all in-house company products, and managed the entire life cycle of campaigns; contract negotiations, creative, copy, and landing page development, placement and testing of pixels, trafficking, launch, daily strategic analysis, proactive optimization, troubleshoot technical issues, re-allocations, book renewals, invoice approvals and coordination of payment

  • Solely managed all desktop and mobile direct response online advertising campaigns such as native, email exclusives, newsletters, search, custom content and sponsorships, API widgets, social media, look-a-like audiences based off customer segment data, retargeting and display campaigns; ensured A/B split testing for all creative delivered

  • Was responsible for managing over $3 MM in company advertising dollars on average, on a monthly basis, while ensuring all media buys were profitable by hitting CPA/CPL goals; became a top media buyer soon after joining the company

  • Cultivated hundreds of collaborative on-going relationships with sales reps and account managers at ad networks, programmatic networks, direct sites and software companies; communicated daily via phone, email, and in-person

  • Coordinated company photo and video shoots, created all online ads by crafting copy, chose imagery, designed ads in Photoshop and wrote basic HTML code; worked closely with content, graphic design, and dev teams to split test my landing page variation ideas

  • In addition to media buying, managed and monitored all company Data Monetization partnerships which totaled in $750k company revenue for 2017

  • Held bi-weekly creative strategy meetings, tracked and reconciled company-wide monthly sales and revenue stats, confirmed commission amounts for team members, met with buyers weekly to review accounts and ensured support was provided

2013 - 2014

  • Was the head media planner / buyer for all agency accounts in the travel & tourism, and healthcare verticals; assisted in researching, planning, buying, executing, and management of online advertising campaigns

  • Worked closely with the Director of Performance Marketing; supported marketing team and agency stakeholders to deliver positive ROI campaigns that exceeded clients’ goals

  • Utilized and bought media from programmatic exchanges, ad networks, and direct websites for advertising programs; campaign strategy includes behavioral targeting, geo-targeting, contextual targeting and re-targeting

  • Was the lead contact for managing all facets of premier online advertising cycles: receive and review RFPs, pre-sale planning process, negotiating budgets, ad trafficking and campaign launch, live flight monitoring, media plan re-allocations, post campaign final performance reports, up-selling and pitching clients on new opportunities, renewals, billing, and invoicing discrepancies

  • Strategized with internal departments and advertising clients on developing high-budget year-long marketing media plans, in areas such as: display banner, search, newsletter, mobile, email exclusive, newsletter, custom sponsorships, custom written articles, and social media sweepstakes

  • Managed approximately 30-35 advertising campaigns at a given time, with budgets totaling over $3 MM per year. Top brands managed were in the retail, outdoor enthusiast, auto, fitness & health, marathon, and general sporting verticals

  • Proactively optimized, analyzed and monitored campaigns on a daily basis; review impressions delivered, conversions, click through rates, dollars at-risk to under-deliver, impressions at-risk to under-deliver, and work with advertising agencies and direct advertisers to ensure optimal campaign performance

  • Trafficked ad tags and custom code for all campaigns within Dart for Publishers/DFP
